In 2018, I am offering a new kind of writing coaching program, which begins with listening.
So much of our ability to write well, depends on our ability to listen well.
The men and women who have worked with me on writing projects over the years have all been fantastic listeners, and it has been an honor to work with them.
Together, we learned how to fine-tune our listening so that our writing became more compelling and effective.
As you consider your writing goals in 2018, ask yourself the following questions:
- What messages am I hearing that need to be included in my writing?
- What am I refusing to hear?
- What should I stop listening to?
Each writer is unique because of what we hear, and what attracts our attention. Each of us is selective in what hear. To define your authentic voice, notice what you hear.
Listen to your own voice speaking, and ask yourself what you stand for, when you are most true to your point of view.
Some of you might like to listen and write with me this year.
Each month in 2018, I am offering a writing exercise to develop your writer’s ear, and your authentic voice, and for some of you to develop a sense of what it means to be part of the restoration revolution that our world needs so very much.
