As we approach Independence Day here in America, I wanted to give thanks for the freedoms that I hold dear in my life.
- The freedom to pursue my dreams whether or not they lead to fame and fortune.
- The freedom to share my authentic voice as a woman, knowing this is not true in too many places in the world.
- The freedom to value time more than money, and live my life unconventionally.
- The freedom to care for my body and be a master of my own life.
- The freedom to make mistakes and not have my whole life defined by one mistake or set of mistakes.
- The freedom to live by my own set of beliefs.
- The freedom to travel across this big and beautiful country with my family
This is just a short list of the freedoms that I treasure. You probably have your own list.
What freedoms do you hold dear?
Take some time to savor them this week!

That is a great list of freedoms. I value the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. Oh, you said that one…that’s a pretty good one. This is great food for thought this fourth. Thanks for a great post!
Have a great 4th of July! Normally, I don’t wish for rain over the holidays, but in your case, hope the whole state of Colorado receives a lot of rain so you can all experience freedom from fire again soon!
the biggie you mentioned: the freedom to make mistakes and not have it define your whole life = excellent point! I value the freedom to choose my career, time allotments and friends: the pursuit of happiness
Those are some great freedoms. We are so lucky to live in these days when so many freedoms are available to us!
I appreciate freedom of religion especially when I usually need to check “other”. Secondly is freedom of speech even if I totally disagree with the text of a speech I will uphold their right to spout it.
I too value freedoom of religion, because my beliefs don’t easily fit into any single belief set. Freedom of speech has become more and more important to me as I’ve grown older and wiser.
Such a great reminder, Karen. We really do go around taking all our freedoms for granted much of the time, don’t we! Thank you! Enjoy your 4th! A great day to focus on our blessings of freedom. Debra
Happy 4th of July to you as well!

A great list of freedoms we share and a great reminder of how lucky we are.
Thank you for your comments and hope you had a great 4th of July!
Excellent! Many others don’t have it so it’s great to remember to e grateful…
Unfortunately true, there are too many people that don’t enjoy the freedoms they deserve.
